Where are you uploading?

Trace uploading works best on a fast home or office wifi. We recommend that you wait until you can go back to a stable wifi connection to upload.

Uploading will not work from a hotel or public wifi due to security, stability, and upload throttling issues. Mobile hotspots also produce poor uploading results. We have found that Verizon mobile hotspots do work on some occasions.

Before you Upload

You need to connect your Trace Case to wifi before you can upload.

If you are setting up a Verizon mobile hotspot please turn your hotspot off, wait a few seconds, turn it back on, and take note of your hotspot’s wifi name before you connect your Trace Case to wifi

1. Plug your case into a wall outlet

We recommend allowing the Case to charge for 20-30 minutes prior to uploading.

2. Plug your Trace Cam into the USB ports

Plug in your Trace Cam into the USB ports in the upper right-hand corner of your Trace Case.

3. Press the Transfer Button

Press the [Transfer Button] at the top left-hand corner of your Trace Case.  The case takes 30-60 seconds to power up.

When the case is on you will notice that the following:

  1. Transfer icons are blinking
  2. The Tracers lights are blinking
  3. Both cameras screens show:

If you see your cameras go into REC mode while plugged into the case unplug them immediately, give them a chance to turn off, and try to reconnect again.

4. Monitoring your upload

Check the case screen in your Trace Teams iOS app for upload status.

You do not need to be next to your case for upload to work. You can check your upload status from anywhere.

5. Game Results

After your upload is complete your game will start processing. This can take 2 or more hours. When your game results are ready you, and everyone on the team roster, will receive an email with links to the results.
